| Why should I have the exterior of my house cleaned? As stated on the previous page, it is important to keep your property clean for "curb appeal" but more importantly for protection against building material degradation. When mold, mildew,algae and other pollutants remain they can contribute to permanent staining of siding, sidewalks, patios, gutters and roofing. What are those Black streaks on my Roof? Those black streaks are called roof algae. A low pressure (non power wash) with the appropriate chemicals will kill and remove the algae making your roof look like new again. Please see our Roof Algae Page for more information and pictures How do you clean those black streaks? Well first off, it is definitely not a good idea to use high pressure when cleaning a roof. Too often than not shingle damage is going to occur. Although the high pressure will remove the viable stains and destroy all the algae/fungus which caused the streaky roof in the first place, the high pressure can remove the granules from shingle roofs and possibly cause color fade. Water leaks can also be a problem. In most cases water leaks can go undetected for days, weeks, months and can cause major wood rot to your rafters in your attic. To clean the roof algae and remove the stains, we use a very low pressure spraying combined with contractor grade chemicals and cleaners. The result is a roof that looks brand new How often should I have my gutters cleaned? Ultimately, you should have your gutters cleaned in early spring and late fall (depending on the amount of trees surrounding your home) to prevent them from getting clogged and causing any type of drainage problem. We offer a gutter cleaning service as well. Do I need to Be home while you work? You do not have to be home while we are working on your home project. The only thing we require is a "working" outdoor water spicket. Does Mr Powerwash clean the patios around inground pools?
